Negombo city tour
Upon arriving in Sri Lanka, you will be greeted with garlands by our guide and transfer to your hotel.
Arrived at the hotel you can recover from a long journey.

Being one of the major tourist beach resorts of the island, this lively town is mainly inhabited by the fisher-folk. This is also one of the strongholds of the catholic community of Sri Lanka and quietly correctly considered as the “Little Rome”, located along the picturesque Negombo lagoon, along which hundreds of fishing boats and catamarans could be seen most of the time. The Town is dotted with several churches, some dating from the earliest colonial times. Sightseeing in Negombo includes the remains of the Old Dutch Fortress from 1678, the Dutch Canal constructed for the transportation of Cinnamon, St. Mary’s Church and the Old Dutch Cemetery, and naturally, the Negombo Fish Market –more famously known as the “Lellama”.

Visit Munneswaram Hindu Temple
Kick start your day after your breakfast and you will be heading to Habarana where you are going to stay 3 consecutive nights.
Chilaw the fishing town of Chilaw has a strong Roman Catholic flavour, with elaborate statues of saints and cardinals in the centre.
Visit Chilaw Fish market.
Then visit Munneswaram Hindu Temple. An important regional Hindu temple complex in Sri Lanka. It has been in existence at least since 1000 CE although myths surrounding the temple associate it with the popular Indian epic Ramayana, and its legendary hero-king Rama. The temple is one of the ancient Pancha Ishwarams dedicated to Shiva in the region.
Proceed to Anuradhapura. In the afternoon jeep safari at country’s largest national park.
Wilpattu means ‘natural lakes’ in Sinhala and ’10 lakes’ in Tamil and lakes are exactly what you’ll find at Wilpattu National Park. Visitor numbers remain low, even in high season, which gives Wilpattu a genuine sense of wilderness. This is a place for the more dedicated safari-goer.

Climb Sigiriya Rock Fortress
Anuradhapura – the sacred city is explored after the breakfast.
This was Sri Lanka’s first capital city founded in the 4th Century B.C. It was a model of systematic planning set in rolling park-land. Here are dagobas, pleasure gardens and reservoirs, indicating what a high level of civilization existed. Places of interest include the Brazen Palace and the Sacred Bo Tree, considered to be the oldest historically documented tree on earth, grown from a sapling of the original tree under which the Lord Buddha attained enlightenment.
Then leave to Sigiriya and in the afternoon visit the famous rock fortress Sigiriya.
A Royal Citadel for 20 years in the 5th Century AD – stark and forbidding, haunted by an epic story of murder and betrayal is attributed to King Kasyapa who found hiding here after killing his father more fruitful than meeting the wrath of the people who loved King Dhatusena much more before meeting his rival – Prince Mugalan who had fled to India seeking reinforcements for his Army. This unique Rock Fortress or “castle in the sky” – a massive monolith of red stone that rises 600ft above ground , derived the name “Lion Rock” as the entrance to the climb to the summit is reached between the paws of a lion .

Visit The Ancient City of Polonnaruwa
Safari jeep at Minneriya National Park
Today, after breakfast Polonnaruwa is explored.
The island’s Medieval Capital (11th – 13th Centuries AD) which rose to fame after the decline of Anuradhapura.. The city was fortified with three concentric walls, beautified with parks and gardens and sanctified by many shrines. A unique Irrigation complex watered the city as well as the surrounding plains helping in agriculture which made the island “the Granary of the East” . The largest of the man made reservoirs, the huge Parakrama Samudra (the Sea of Parakrama), is larger in size than the Colombo Harbour. Polonnaruwa is home to two magnificent World Heritage Sites and numerous other sites of archaeological and historical interest , some of which depict the influence that Hinduism had on the Buddhist Civilisation during that period of history.
Culmination of the day is with a safari at Minneriya National Park.
It is situated around the reservoir of the same name in the south central area of the island. This park comprises of grasslands, thorny scrubs and many valuable species of trees. Large herds of elephants, species of deer, wild boar, water buffalo and jackals are some of the wild animals found, along with a variety of avifauna that abounds the park. Has become synonymous with the annual “Elephant Gathering”

In the morning, 2-3 free hours to enjoy the pool in the hot climate.
Proceed to Wasgamuwa late in the morning after a late breakfast.

Previously a strict natural reserve, the park has a tropical dry mixed green forest cover. A mountain range lies across the forest and two rivers of which one is the Mahaweli River, the longest river in Sri Lanka, circles the park. Over 200 speces of mammals, 163 species of birds (of which 05 are endemic to Sri Lanka), 15 species of amphibians and 52 species of butterflies (including 7 naturally endangered species) are found here. Animals found are Elephants, crocodile, monitors, bear, sambur and wild boar among a variety of birds.

After breakfast heading to Mahiyangana which is not too far from Mahiyangana.
Visit Mahiyangana Raja Maha Vihara which is an ancient Buddhist temple in Mahiyangana in Sri Lanka. It is believed to be the site of Gautama Buddha‘s first visit to the country, and is one of the Solosmasthana, the 16 sacred religious locations in Sri Lanka.
In the afternoon explore the wildlife in Mahiyangana by paying a visit to the Maduru Oya National Park. The specialty of the park is that you will find a lot of endemic species both in the form of animals as well as plants. Hop on a safari tour around the park and enjoy the wilderness.

After your breakfast, heading to the last ancient city of Sri Lanka, Kandy.
Arrive to Kandy. Literally known as the “City on the Hills” so named as it was protected by the nature – water , rocks and jungles. The last capital of the Sri Lankan kings before falling to the British in 1815AD which is a World Heritage Site.
In andy you are going to embark on a city tour in Kandy starting from the centre of attraction – the golden roofed Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic of Lord Buddha.
After visiting the tooth relic temple, you will drive around the affluent Kandy lake admiring the serene and stunning landscape merged with the beauty of nature. Then walk into the local market.
In the evening watch a Cultural Performance by traditional Kandyan Dancers and Drummers including devotional “Fire Walking”

In the morning, visit Royal Botanical Gardens – one of the best of its kind in Asia with more than 5000 species of different varieties of flora which incidentally was the Headquarters of Lord Louise Mountbatten – the Supreme Commander of the Allied Forces during the 2nd World War,
You will proceed to the hill country.
Visit a Tea Factory and a Plantation to witness the manufacturing process of world famous “Ceylon Tea” and to taste a pure unblended cup of factory fresh tea before being sent to the Tea Auctions in Colombo leading to Export.
A short walk can be done in the tea plantations.

Hike Mini Adam’s Peak
Early morning departs to Horton Plains. The only National Park situated in the Hill Country is Sri Lanka’s highest and most isolated plateau at an elevation of more than 2000 metres and is located in the District of Nuwara Eliya. This 3,162- hectare National Park is a natural playground without rival in Sri Lanka and is a watershed of tremendous importance containing the second and third highest mountains in Sri Lanka with in its precincts. It’s widely spread Patana grass-covered plains are the haunt of many species of flora and fauna among which are found sambhur, deer, slender lories, purple monkeys, eagles and some 247 species of butterflies, rare orchids, rhododendron trees and exotic mosses. Bridle paths through the plains lead to the precipice known as World’s End, a sheer drop of 1,050 meters and the much famous Baker’s Falls.
Then leave to Ella.
In the evening you will start to hike up to Mini Adam’s Peak. The summit of the mountain has a great panoramic views.

Best known of Sri Lanka’s National Parks , Yala (Ruhunu) National Park is located in the south east of the island bound by sea and river. A terrain of scrub jungle with stunning outcrops of rock includes many fresh water lakes and brackish lagoons. The eastern boundary formed by the sea, is marked by high sand dunes and broad sandy beaches. It is divided in to five blocks out of which Block 1 stand out as the most familiar. With a secondary forest , probably a few hundred years old where thorn-scrub is interspersed with fairly dense forest marked by many flowering trees and rare tropical woods. If you are lucky you can catch a glimpse of the Big Four – Elephant , Leopard , Bear and Buffalo while sightings of other mammals such as Sambhur , Spotted Deer, Jackal , Mongoose , with several species of Monkeys will stand as a bonus. The avifauna at Yala comprises of 120 – 130 species according to latest sightings which include the endemic and migrant species , the latter coming annually to escape the northern winter.It has been well known for its highest Leopard Concentration.

You can enter this 712 hectare (1,760 hectares) of this marine marine aquatic ecosystem. This is a wildlife sanctuary for the Kalametiya Marine Wetland Environment Ordinance, the Fauna and Flora Ordinance. It was in 1938. In addition, Kalamatiya Sanctuaries are nowadays available to the Asian Catchment Directory. Watercourses have a number of reasons to choose Kalamatiya Ecosystems for their habitats. The first is an immeasurably lagoon ecosystem. It is the catchment of fish and other birds. In addition, the addition of a floral system for birds to build nests in the bird population has contributed to the increase in bird population. Especially in our country thousands of species of cranes and ducks can be seen.
